You're more liable to come away with scars. Today, such faith is more and more discouraged as we agree on less and less.Īn attempt to dive into the abyss of another subjective is less rewarding than it used to be. We took leaps of faith, and we landed safely in a place where we could agree. It moved us to dialogue, and there was a certain "math" we could agree on through such dialogue. Maybe a working of faith and grace kept us on the same train for a while. Some go backwards, some don't move at all. Today, you have entire competing train companies. Likewise, some subjective truths have not been suited to ride certain trains. Unfortunately, some trains have not been suited to carry some subjective truths. The train carried this thing called a "shared reality” for everyone to enjoy. If driving in separate cars represented subjective experiences, reason was the train station where we all met. Reason, at its best, helped translate truths across those subjective buffers to establish objective truths. This happened by virtue of another thing once celebrated in the West: And sometimes, that subjective would find those ideas helpful. It was celebrated, because some ideas used to cross from one subjective to another. This is close to what comprises "individuality." It’s a thing that used to be celebrated in the West. Not one person on earth 100% agrees with you. They develop their own categories, some categories align with others. Subjective truths become entire systems of reasoning within themselves. More people on the planet equals more ideas on the planet, equals more subjective truths on the planet.
